Cfast stands for Cosmetically Focused Adult Straight Teeth, and this program will designate, upon completion, that the clinician is a Certified Cfast Provider. Cfast is a quick, effective, affordable and aesthetic way to address mis-alignment of teeth in the patient’s smile zone, cuspid-to-cuspid. Treatment is done considerably faster than traditional comprehensive orthodontics since it is only the anterior teeth that are moved. Cfast is not a replacement for comprehensive orthodontic treatment, but often allows us to conservatively address our patients’ aesthetic wants. Cfast can also be a profit center for your practice as it is very easy to learn and implement.
Course Objectives
- The clinician will understand the indications and contra-indications of providing cosmetically focused adult tooth movement thus allowing them to determine the proper case selection.
- The clinician will understand the biomechanical mechanism and movements which allow cosmetically focused adult tooth movement to occur quickly without compromising the health of the teeth and supporting periodontium.
- The clinician will be able to communicate realistic expectations to their patients.
- The clinician will be able to communicate with the laboratory to properly set-up the case.
- The clinician will understand the clinical techniques and skills necessary to place brackets with the indirect placement technique, and place archwires, elastic O-rings, metal ties, long metal ties and powerchains.
- The clinician will understand the clinical techniques and skills necessary to remove the orthodontic appliances and select the proper form of post-orthodontic retention.
- The clinician and team will learn how to integrate the clinical protocols into their practice.

Dr Krishnan is Internationally renowned as the creator of one of the world's most popular adult cosmetic orthodontic systems - CFAST (Cosmetically Focused Adult Straight Teeth).
He qualified from Dundee University in 1993 and completed a clinical attachment in Oral Surgery in 1999 following which he set up DRAKE Dental Care in 2002 and then Lubiju in 2008 which was Highly Commended as Best Specialist Practice in Scotland and voted Best Private Practice in East Scotland. Dr Krishnan was also recognised as one of Scotland's outstanding dentists at the Dentistry Awards and has treated many celebrities including Holly Willoughby, Alexandra Burke and the ex supermodel Helena Christensen amongst others.
Dr Krishnan lectures extensively nationally and internationally primarily on cosmetically focused orthodontics, in which he has pioneered revolutionary new concepts using the C-FAST Adult Brace System which he personally developed.
Dr Krishnan has published in many journals Internationally and recently authored the first book on cosmetic orthodontics. He is on the board of the British Academy of Restorative Dentistry and the editorial board of Aesthetic Dentistry Today.
